Restore your landscape for wildlife and resiliency.
Restore your landscape for wildlife and resiliency.
To work with landowners to restore the environment for nature. If we all do a little, we can accomplish a lot.
Wren Restoration is an outgrowth of our love for our land and our passions for planning, ecological restoration, and conservation. Together, we have over 30 years experience in the fields of conservation, site and land planning, permitting, and project management. With backgrounds in wildlife science, education, public policy, community planning, non-profits, biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, land development permitting, and land surveying, we bring to your project and plan a unique perspective and – importantly – the ability to realize your vision by working with you to implement your plan.

Wren Restoration provides tailored, conservation-focused, end-to-end land services targeted toward conservation organizations, smaller landowners, and others seeking an integrated planning-management approach to their lands.
We listen to your goals, and we “listen” to your land – where is it on the larger landscape? What ecological types are or were present? Our goal is to provide landowners with the tools to achieve their goals set within appropriate landscape-scale, conservation, and ecological contexts.
Wren Restoration provides the following services:
We provided assistance to Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC) as part of a federally-funded habitat management and ecological restoration project. Our services included removal of invasive multi-flora rose, buckthorn, autumn olive, and honeysuckle from about 10 acres of MHLC’s Bender Melon Farm preserve, pursuant to a management plan.
This project involved reworking a roughly 4,000 sf heavily-used stone parking area serving as the trailhead of a local preserve. To eliminate standing water and pot holes, we established a new slope using existing material. We also cut in a small drainage swale and reestablished the vegetation line around the lot.
We provide Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC) assistance with managing their Montgomery and Albany County preserves. Our services include trails mowing, parking area maintenance, and trail clearing. Among the challenges at one preserve, Mosher Marsh, located in Amsterdam, NY, is an increase in beaver activity and reduction in access to about half of the trail system. Maintaining these portions of the system requires additional effort and lighter equipment due to access limitations.
We look forward to hearing from you and learning how we can help make your property goals become a reality!
